Sarghy AI Autopublisher user manual

The guide below covers installation, OpenAI setup, article settings, optional modules, manual runs, status monitoring, and quick troubleshooting. The base plugin is free and needs no license key; an optional PRO subscription adds automatic 24/7 publishing.

Quick start

  1. 01Install and activate the WordPress plugin.
  2. 02The base plugin runs free; a PRO license key (optional) unlocks PRO.
  3. 03Add your own OpenAI API key for article processing.
  4. 04Choose the target language, category, and word count.
  5. 05Enable optional modules such as duplicate detection, featured image AI, and markdown export.
  6. 06Monitor status, token usage, queue state, and duplicate skips.

1. Installation

  • Upload the plugin in WordPress (Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin) and activate it. A new "AI AutoPublisher" menu appears, with Settings and Status pages.
  • The base plugin runs free right away. To unlock PRO, paste your PRO license key on the Settings page and press "Activate License"; the banner shows the state: Activated, Invalid, Expired, or Checking.
  • The PRO license is tied to your domain. You can manage activated domains from your account dashboard on sarghy.com.

2. Connecting OpenAI

  • Add your own OpenAI API key. The key stays inside your WordPress installation and never appears in logs.
  • Pick the GPT model: GPT-4o mini (cheaper, recommended), GPT-4o (best for long articles), or GPT-3.5 Turbo (up to ~2000 words).
  • Most fields have an "i" icon: click it for a plain-language explanation of what the field expects.

3. Article settings

  • Custom Instructions: tell the AI how your brand speaks. Applied to every article.
  • Target Language: pick from about 50 suggested languages, filter by typing, or enter any language OpenAI supports. The field is required.
  • Post Category: where the published articles land. The list is filled automatically from your site's categories.
  • Publishing: the free plugin publishes manually — you press Run Now (section 5) to publish the oldest draft. Automatic publishing on a daily, weekly, or monthly schedule is a PRO feature.
  • Word Count: 800 to 3000 words per article, 1500 recommended. For 2000+ words use GPT-4o.

4. Optional modules

  • Duplicate Detection: blocks articles that are too similar to existing content. Separate thresholds for title and body, both 80% by default.
  • Featured Image AI (off by default): generates a cover image per article, with an editable prompt ({keyword} and {title} placeholders), a 16:9 / 1:1 / 9:16 format selector, provider choice, and a fallback image. Images are saved web-optimized (WebP) with SEO-friendly names.
  • Markdown Export (off by default): saves every published article as a clean .md file in /wp-content/uploads/markdown/, with an automatically maintained index.

5. Manual publishing: Run Now

  • The Run Now button processes the oldest draft immediately and shows a live four-stage progress view: Rewrite → Image → SEO → Publish.
  • A short cooldown applies between manual runs.

6. Monitoring: the Status page

  • Your plan and API key state, drafts processed, drafts remaining, and the last run.
  • Tokens consumed (split into prompt and completion) so you can track your real AI cost.
  • Duplicates skipped, with the detection state.

7. Quick troubleshooting

  • Red "OpenAI API Quota Exceeded" banner: your OpenAI account ran out of credit. The draft is not lost; it is retried automatically.
  • Yellow "OpenAI API Timeout" banner: the AI answered too slowly. The draft is retried on the next run.
  • An article skipped as duplicate shows up in the "Duplicates Skipped" counter on the Status page.
